The NISSE coordinates the data exchange within the social security network. 

Negotiations were initiated with the central social security data bank and other social security institutions with regard to the computerisation of contribution data, necessary within the framework of the Disablement Benefit Plan. This dossier was prepared by the "data exchange" study group of the consultation platform NISSE - Ministry of the Middle Classes (Board for the social status)  – social security funds.

As for e-government projects, the NISSE contributes to the development of one of the pilot projects of the UME (Universal Messaging Engine). It involves an engine for electronic data exchange between various administrations and at a later stage also with citizens.
Before, for the renewal of an itinerant merchant's card, citizens were obliged to request a formal certificate in writing. Thanks to this project this certificate will be directly obtained via the UME.

Also the National Institute is represented in the project committee (late 2002) with regard to the central data bank for companies. It monitors the activities and coordinates the required actions within the National Institute.
