Which types of education?

• higher education offered and recognised in Belgium
• higher education offered abroad which is recognised there or is equated with a recognised programme
• recognised training for priests
• science programmes as preparation for the Royal Military School or engineering degrees

Conditions

• be enrolled in one or more higher education institutions in Belgium or abroad with the intention to complete one or more training programmes
• a total of at least 27 study points (SP) per academic year

Continuation of the child benefit
The child benefit continues during the period between two subsequent academic years. The duration of this period must not exceed 120 days.
If the child does not start a new training programme by enrolling in a higher education institution, the child benefit will continue through the summer holidays. These holidays are considered to end no later than 30 September.
