Born before 1956
You are not obliged to affiliate for the full social status of self-employed persons.

If you were born before 1956, you will be at least 50 years old on 1 January 2006. This means that it is too late to build up your own, fully-fledged pension career. The legislator thus considers it unfair to have you pay contributions as collaborating spouse for the full social status.

Note: you are under the obligation to become affiliated for the mini-status.
You may, but are not obliged to, affiliate for the complete social status.
