Under certain conditions, the pension that is calculated on the basis of your professional income can
be increased to the minimum pension for self-employed persons.
Conditions
- proof of 2/3 of a full professional career:
-
- Retirement pension: you must present proof of your own career that is at least equal to 2/3 of a full
professional career
- Survivorship pension: the career of your deceased spouse must be at least equal to 2/3 of a full professional
career
To check if the condition of the 2/3 professional career is met, account is taken of the career as
self-employed person and of the one as employee.
- The pension calculated on the basis of the minimum pension is greater than the calculation of the
pension on the basis of the professional income.
Calculation
The amount of the minimum pension is multiplied with a
fraction that corresponds with the career as self-employed person or as assistant.
Attention! The sum of the amounts of your pension as a self-employed
person calculated in function of the minimum pension and the amount of your pension as employee may not
exceed a fixed cap. If that is the case, the minimum pension
will be accordingly reduced.
