In order to receive a bankruptcy benefit, you must meet the following requirements:

• your official residence must be in Belgium
• you must have been liable for insurance during the preceding period in the social status of self-employed persons (more specifically during the quarter in which the bankruptcy was pronounced and during the three preceding quarters, or during the quarter of suspension of the activity in case of obvious incapacity)
• the contributions for the preceding period must be due because of your principal activity
• as from the first working day following the day of the bankruptcy pronouncement you can no longer exercise a professional activity or enjoy a replacement income
