This business operating number will identify you to the Central Social Security Data Bank for Business Enterprises. A large number of administrative offices contact that office for official information. This will save you from having to repeat over and over again the same kind of information that is already on file with government offices.

The business office will also put you in contact with a social insurance fund. 
You need to affiliate yourself with a social insurance fund for your own social security.

In addition, the office will ensure that you are/remain affiliated with a health care fund.
